The Board of Future Communications (Scotland) Limited consider that health and safety is of, at least, equal importance in comparison to any other aspect of business management and is committed to promoting high standards of safety, health and welfare on all of their sites, premises and in all of their activities.  To achieve this, the Board will: -

  • Constantly work towards improving the safety culture at all levels within Future Communications (Scotland) Limited
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal duties in respect of health and safety at work legislation
  • Provide adequate resources for planning, provision and maintenance of safe working conditions and a safe system of work

What are Future Communications (Scotland) Limited’s objectives for Health, Safety and Welfare?

Future Communications (Scotland) Limited believe that one accident is “One accident too many!!” and their objective is to plan, control and monitor activities in such a manner so as not to harm anyone, whether directly or indirectly employed, visitors or members of the public.  To achieve this Future Communications (Scotland) Limited: -

  • Have an overview Strategic Plan and specific objectives & targets which are updated annually
  • Use Accident Frequency Rate (AFR) as a key performance indicator of health & safety performance
  • Internally and externally audit their health & safety management systems and implement improvements

How do Future Communications (Scotland) Limited comply with their responsibilities for Health, Safety & Welfare?

  •  All employees, sub-contractors, consultants, suppliers and visitors have a duty to play an active part in maintaining this performance by compliance with their legal obligations and this Safety Policy
  • The board have responsibility for the implementation of Health & Safety to the business
  • Managers and staff who are given specific duties for controlling work, preparing risk assessments, safety plans etc will be given appropriate advice, information, instruction, training and supervision to successfully undertake these tasks
  • Health and Safety are regarded as responsibilities of equal importance to matters such as production and quality for all line managers when planning, preparing and undertaking work
  • The correction of any breach of statutory provision on health and safety will take priority.  Should appropriate action not be taken to meet the required standards, this will be taken seriously and may lead to disciplinary action being taken.

What are Future Communications (Scotland) Limited’s expectations for communication of Health, Safety & Welfare?  

Participation and consultation are vital aspects of this Policy.  Staff are encouraged and expected to:-

  • Discuss safety, health and welfare matters with their managers, and company Safety, Health & Environmental Coaches who will offer or obtain further expert advice, where necessary.
  • Co-operate at all times; contribute good ideas and improvements; report defects and short falls.

This Future Communications (Scotland) Limited Policy Statement will be displayed prominently at all sites and workplaces and will be kept under review to ensure it’s continuing relevance.
